Computer Generated Images – CGIs
Computer Generated Images – CGIs can be fully modelled without being overlayed onto a photograph.
Although this is always the case for interior 3D visuals, exterior views can sometimes benefit from having their surrounding context fully modelled. For instance, the quality of a photomontage is sometimes hindered by unsightly surroundings or a sun path that isn’t favourable to the proposal’s design, in this case a pure CG visuals can be more suitable.
The 3D model’s virtual cameras can be placed in positions that would be otherwise impossible such as bird’s eye views or any other inaccessible vantage point. A total control over the virtual sun’s direction, height and intensity can therefore produce 3D renders that showcase the proposal from its optimal -albeit with a fair bit of artistic license – viewpoints and lighting conditions.
